Hello hello. My name is Ellliott and my world consists of guitars, photography and long nights.

I have been photographing  for around two years now. I found myself really interested in people of the day and the night. These images are no body of work, just some of my favorite portraits I took the last moth or so.

I hope you enjoy and would appreciate some constructive critisism, as that is how we improve. Looking forward to your citiques!

Regards, Elliott

Photo 1: The man’s face looks excellent when this photo is viewed full size.  I love the grain, the harsh light, the shadows, the texture in his beard.   Some of this gets lost when the photo is viewed at a smaller size on my monitor, but still a very nice shot.

Photo 2: Is intriguing because i can’t tell what the man is getting ready for.  The clenched fist is great.  The arm of the spectator on the left sense of the photo creates a real feeling of being there, in the crowd.

Photo 3: Well exposed and focused, but perhaps would be more emotional if taken head on?

Photo 4: What a character!  Great expression.  I’m not sure how you got the lights to play like that, but its a perfect complement to the hair.

Thank you bro!! Yeah for photo 3 I could have gotten closer, very true.

For the 4th photo i dont really know what happened. I had my camera set to P mode 1600 iso. I shot a few shots of him in that setting and then I triggered the shutter once more and the camera gave me a really long exposure which it never did before. I moved the camera in surprise, thats how i got the light flares but for some reason the man in the picture and everything else is sharp…

I like the facial expressions. #3 is well composed. You captured a man deep in thought. Makes me wonder what it was he was thinking. In #5, the light streaks leaves the impression that it was a long exposure but yet his face is largely in focus. That gives pause to study the photo further. Good job!   –Andrew

I like all of them!

#1 could be more exposed to show the details of the guy and the environment. Shoot and post more!

Nice examples here, specially the sad looking man which is the best in my opinion. The macho man maybe would have been better without cutting the feet but in the street is quite difficult sometimes to control this. The last one is quite funny. Hope you can develop your personal style more and more.

I like your last photo the most for unknown reasons. It feels like I’m seeing someone’s dream. Good job!
