Don’t take my picture

We have all gotten that “if looks could kill” stare. This just happened to be of my daughter when we were on our way to the Philadelphia Flower show. I wanted to get a nice street style portrait of her and this was the outcome. I think the stare actually helps the image. What do you guys think?

Have any of you had someone stare like this into your lens? If so let’s see your favorite shots.

I made this picture in Port Louis, Mauritius.  I was surprised how chilled out people in Mauritius are.  I was in full a-hole street photographer mode and no one said a word to me.  All I got were a few dirty looks.  Perhaps they thought I was a lunatic.

This gentleman was staring me down as I worked through the crowd to get closer. His demeanor never changed from the moment we made eye contact.

He looked very curious as to what you were doing.

She stopped singing in the middle of the song at the precise moment i took this photo, i could feel her anger coming from her eyes like waves of hate directed at me, i didn’t expect that to happen so i put 5 dollars in the donation container she had, but it didn’t do any good, she still kept staring in hatred, like trying to banish me from her presence, i told her “sorry”, and said ” i left you 5 dollars”, she still kept on staring at me in disapproval so i just turned around and disappeared into the crowd, looking back to see if she still was emanating waves of hate, and found out she had begun singing again like she usually does at the Santa Monica Pier.

Unless it was stated “no photographs” during the event. You were in a public place and she definitely overreacted.

what i do now if i am going to take a photo of a street performer is to ask them for permission first and i always leave a $10.00 contribution.
