I took this Easter weekend this year in the North End (Little Italy) of Boston and couldn’t believe the timeless look of the girl with the scene and how all the colors, composition, and lines just worked out perfectly. Love this and totally agree with sentimentowl on how the lines of the dresses and shades raise it to a perfect shot where the image itself and lighting alone made it great. Cool how they both have stripes yet are different directions for added interest.
All really great but I particularly like the first image, which has a lovely tone and is really nicely framed. It looks like it should be quite an innocent and idyllic scene, but the dark shadow at the top and the fact that the subjects are faced inwards, backs to camera, provides a sinister undercurrent. The hats remind me of Picnic at Hanging Rock. Brilliant stuff.
