Hi, my dad is doing some street photography with the Ricoh GR II and how is wondering what kind of battery life you are getting with this camera and he is only getting about 100 shots out of a fully charged battery
+1, that’s good advice for any mirrorless/compact camera that uses live-view. You can’t walk around with it switched on all day like you can with a DSLR. You should be getting a lot more than 100 shots per battery.
If that fails to solve the problem, it’s likely that the battery has gone bad and you need to buy a new one. Lithium ion batteries can go bad if you store them for too long in a depleted state or could just be due to bad luck. If you’re not using the camera for a long time, make sure you keep the battery charged up every few months. Camera batteries will drain down slowly on their own even when out of the camera. When it gets below a certain voltage, the battery is permanently damaged.
I have a Ricoh GR II and usually take two extra batteries with me. They are small enough to throw in my pocket and forget about until I need them, and if you plan on shooting all day with the Ricoh you will. I picked two after market batteries and a charger up on Amazon for pretty cheap.
