Hello everybody. My name is Hector (AKA RazorBlade/Phantom Photographer). I’m a street/urban exploration Barcelona based photographer, and right now I’m doing a 365 project to just train myself everyday and test different cameras / configurations for different uses. My mains inspiration for almost all my work is the classic paintings from the XVIII and XIX century, specially the german romantic period, except in street photography,(where my main inspiration is the japanese school from the Provoke Magazine and in some extent, Cartier-Bresson and Koudelka) and in the colour tonalities of my urbex works (mainly inspired by horror movies and the Silent Hill videogame saga, love the colour palletes used there!)

My main portfolio is here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/hectorocafotografia/sets BUT I will put 4 photos of each genre I do usually. Hope you like it and if not, critiques/tips are welcome 😉

Soon I will be helping the others analizing pictures posted in this section. Right now is 1: 00 AM in Spain and I need to take a break…

See you soon!

Hi Hector, I like the composition of the first photo with the light tubes leading the eye to the person below that is well placed in the opening.

I agree with Jesper. The first photo is the strongest. Wonderfully composed; I like the way the ceiling light leads to the person at the bottom of the frame. It may be due to the rendering on my computer, but the last shot seems to be out of focus throughout the frame.  –Andrew

Thank you for your comments. I had a hard time selecting the photos because of all I have and I was indecisive.

BTW, the last one is out of focus in the front, the back is more or less focused, that’s right 🙂 I just liked the mood and atmosphere.

Hello Hector from Chicago!

I hope to one day return to Barcelona and I an going to live vicariously through your photos for now : )

I really enjoy the  1st image and your last image the most. In both there is a mood to both. I love images that make me feel a sense of place. the 2 middle images are also strong but for my taste I enjoy to “feel” an image.

keep shooting great work

If you come to Barcelona tell me 😉 I’ll guide you a bit. It’s a nice place to shoot but, as The Doors said in their song, “people are strange”. Thank you! 🙂

You have a great work and I add you in flickr!

Mi compañero de trabajo nació en Barcelona, pero vive aquí en Brasil desde hace mucho tiempo.

No conozco a España, pero estoy seguro de que es un hermoso país.

Saludos desde Brasil.
