Hi all!

I’m a beginner. So, any comments/notes/advices are highly appreciated!

24mm, no crop, edited in LR.

Thank you in advance!

good work, now get closer!!!

on August 29, 2017

Good advice! Thanks! It is quite challenging to get closer! I’m working on this. But for me this is also quite challenging to photograph such a large scene like you can see on the image. Well, in general 24mm is quite challenging for me 🙂 Nevertheless, thank you very much! 🙂

It’s a nice shot, love the tones throughout and the shadows.

I think it would have been better if the man was walking in to the scene and would suggest getting closer… but with that said sometimes you need to be further for the viewer to look in to the scene.

Good job mate, keep shooting!

> would suggest getting closer…

I don’t imagine this… only if one step forward (or even less) in order to make highlighted area on the front a bit smaller, in order to make that area inscribed into bottom-left area of golden spiral (it is a bit larger). Inadvertently I didn’t care about that area as much as I did care about top-right area. I wanted it to be somehow inscribed into top-right area of golden spiral. The man is in the center of golden spiral, and the pillar is a left border of top-right (rectangle) area of golden spiral. (However top highlighted area is also a bit larger than that). If I would be closer then I will not be able to accomplish the intent (the man won’t be in the center and the pillar will be outside of the area). My thoughts might look like ignorant thoughts and I think they are, please feel free to help me understand all these things a bit better 🙂 I was just playing with composition based on golden rectangle (for the first time). Most likely I haven’t achived such composition, but it was very interesting experience! 🙂 Nevertheless, thank you very much!

I love the depth and contrast. My critique would be to either (square?) crop off the bus (left side) or somehow bring it out a bit. Regardless, this shot captures my attention and then draws me in to wonder what the hell that guy is looking for?! Or is he mad? Thanks, man.

Too far. Get closer next time, and watch out for white cars in background.
