If i’d shot this, i’d struggle to entirely reject it as there’s a few interesting characters (in good focus) and there’s activity and life to the situation with some atmosphere. But i think the framing is too low and not close enough, which i know is often the way of a zone focussed grab shot. The smoke and the strip light adds to the shot. The quite large area of solid dark at the base doesn’t add anything imo and unbalances the picturr overall. A keeper for your archive but not a show-er i’d suggest.

I agree. I was drawn to the fire. They would burn whatever trash or scrap wood they could find to cook on the grill. Some of the cheapest and best food I had on the island.

Nice mood and scene; next time I would get closer to the smoke, and perhaps shoot as a vertical, to focus on that drama there
