Laptop specs advice

Hi all, I’m looking for a good laptop, more precisely a macbook pro 13. The model I’m looking to is the the 2019 macbook pro base model with 256 GB of ssd, which has been updated few days ago with a quad core cpu. I’ll get it with educational discount (luckily they have back to school offers right now XD).

This is my first mac (I’ve always been a windows user) so I don’t know what specs I need to get in order to have a flawless experience. I’m currently using around 100gb (including the OS and installed softwares) of space on my PC’s drive, so 256gb will be plenty for my use case. But what about RAM? The basic amount apple sells is 8gb (the same as my current pc) but maybe I should future-proof my purchase by upgrading to 16gb. The problem is that the ram upgrade costs 250€, so I need to understand whether I really need it before wasting money for it.

Any advice? Thank you for now 🙂

Hello, I’m going with the 8gb version because I think the 16gb upgrade is very overpriced and probably I don’t need the more memory.
