I’m not particularly rough on my gear, but I don’t baby it either. So a few months ago, I discovered that the diopter wheel on my Fuji X100F was broken, leaving a hole where debris could enter the camera. Not sure how/when it happened, but reading the warranty, I saw that tit didn’t cover accidents or abuse. I figured Fuji would easily be able to claim that one of those had occurred, so I thought about just taping over the hole (the camera was otherwise functional). Ultimately, though, I decided to send it in and see what would happen.
It took a couple of weeks for my camera to reach the front of the line for evaluation. But to their credit, Fuji never questioned how the damage occurred. They immediately sent me a new camera.
If you’re on the fence about whether to invest in a Fuji – my experience is that they stand behind their products.
And, here’s a picture I took today with my replacement X100F.
